If you or your kids want to work for a top tech firm like Apple or Google, you might want to pick a college close to the company.

Wired.com broke down hiring patterns at some of the biggest tech companies to see where they get the majority of their recruits..

For Cupertino-based Apple, they employ about 900 UC Berkeley grads, 800 San Jose State grads, and 300 grads from the University of Texas, Austin.

A similar correlation for Google, which employs 2,500 Stanford grads, 2,000 Cal grads, and about 800 grads each from Carnegie Mellon and UCLA.
