1 person killed following head-on collision involving CAL FIRE vehicle

PETALUMA, Calif. (KGO) -- Lakeville Highway outside of Petaluma is back open after a deadly head-on crash left the road closed for hours Friday.

That crash involved an open-top Jeep and a CAL FIRE SUV. The man driving the Jeep was ejected from the car and died at the scene.

A firefighter behind the wheel of the SUV was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries. He is expected to be okay.
