ST. HELENA, Calif. (KGO) -- A high school science teacher in Napa County has been named one of five California Teachers of the Year for 2015.
Christopher O'Connor has taught at St. Helena High School in the St. Helena Unified School District the last 10 years.
The research scientist turned educator snagged the title of Napa County's Teacher of the Year in May.
Those who nominated him say his curriculum is "cool and exciting." It includes real anatomy labs, biodiesel production, and beekeeping.
The California Department of Education will honor O'Connor at a Sacramento gala in Feb.
