Caltrain commuters greeted by higher fares

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Caltrain's adult base fare went up 50 cents today. The price of day passes, eight ride tickets and monthly passes are also higher.

Clipper card holders will continue to receive a roughly 15 percent discount. Caltrain approved the fare changes to meet rising costs of rail operations and maintenance. The increases went into effect yesterday.
