Driver leads CHP on chase from El Cerrito to Concord

CONCORD, Calif. (KGO) -- A routine traffic stop ended in a car chase from El Cerrito to Concord early Monday morning. CHP officers say it started around midnight on southbound I-680.

The female driver led officers on chase reaching speeds of up to 80 miles-per-hour. Spike strips slowed the vehicle as the driver headed into Concord and came to a stop on Willow Pass Road near Highway 242. Officers arrested the driver for suspected DUI and leading them on chase. No one was hurt.
