Study: College students party less after Great Recession

LOS ANGELES (KGO) -- Students who are college freshman right now are less experienced at partying and more prone to depression.

Researchers at UCLA found almost one in ten current freshmen admitted to experiencing depression. That's up from a previous study in 2009.

Those same students also reported spending less time at parties.

Just nine percent say they partied six hours or more a week.

The survey suggests these students, who came of age during the recession, buckled down more in high school, perhaps partly due to worries about financial success.
