Neighbors said the nanny's car is still parked in front of the house and can't believe what happened on their street. "As you can see this is a very safe, quiet neighborhood, so you don't think these things happen, but it sure does," neighbor Myra Shmel said.

Police said the parents caught Antioch resident Mikayla Ririe, 23, abusing the child on a remote video camera set up at their home on Bordeaux Court in Danville.

Several neighbors told ABC7 News the baby's mother had suspicions about Ririe. "She doesn't know for sure what's happening when she's gone and the fact sometimes she has to call several times to get an answer concerns her," Shmel said.

Neighbors also said the nanny had only been working for the family for a few months.

Ririe was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

The child, a 10-month-old infant, was transported to San Ramon Regional Hospital as a precaution.

Police said the incident is under investigation.
