Eddie Redmayne talks playing Stephen Hawking in 'The Theory of Everything'

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- "The Theory of Everything" is a new film that tells the story of noted physicist Stephen Hawking and his relationship with his wife Jane. The picture stars Eddie Redmayne ("Les Miserables") as Hawking and Felicity Jones ("The Amazing Spiderman 2") as his wife.

'Theory' explores the magical bond between a husband, wife and family who are forced to deal with a debilitating ALS diagnosis that befell their patriarch.

Leyla Gulen spoke with Redmayne about the challenging role, his preparation and the prospect that Oscar may come calling.
