Hello Kitty festival comes to Oakland's Oracle Arena

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- A beloved cat was celebrated on Sunday in Oakland. ABC7 News was at Oracle Arena as Hello Kitty and her friends put on a live performance for fans.

The "Hello Kitty Supercute Friendship Festival" also included interactive exhibits, art, face painting, and fashion.

There was something there for fans of all ages.

"And she's just a really good friend of mine," said Allegra O'Brien. "She stayed with me when I moved to Europe, America, and Singapore. You know, all those places around."

Her mother, Katja O'Brien, added, "We love her style and all she stands for, friendship and smiles, and just a positive attitude."

Sunday's festival is part of Hello Kitty's first ever live North American tour.
