One Ed Sheeran fan performed in a surprise impromptu duet with the pop star himself.
Sheeran had been shopping at the West Edmonton Mall in Alberta when he heard 13-year-old Sydney Borbeau singing his "Thinking Out Loud" nearby. With a wide grin on his face, Sheeran walks onstage and joins a shocked Borbeau in a duet of his song.
Borbeau had been performing the song as part of her school's fundraiser for the Edmonton Humane Society on Sunday, and couldn't believe it when the red head pop star appeared right in front of her eyes. "I was like, should I stop? I didn't want to stop, but I wanted to talk to him," she said. "This is, like, the best thing that's ever happened to me," Borbeau told the Edmonton Journal. The school had no idea Sheeran was going to be at the mall.
"That's a once-in-a-lifetime experience. He happened to be there, she's singing his song...it was amazing that she was actually able to keep it together and finish," Michael Cathrea, Resonate Music School president, told the Edmonton Journal. "It was shock, as if she had seen a ghost."
YouTube user Murray Cummings uploaded video of Sheerna and Borbeau's duet on June 14, and has already amassed over 3 million views and many positive comments.
"THIS IS SO SWEET! She kept it together well. I probably would have broken down," wrote one YouTube user.
"This is beautiful. Much appreciation to Ed. He's a great guy!" wrote another.
