Recipe: Bacon Cheeseburger Lumpia

Ingredients:

1LB 80/20 ground beef

1 cup maple cured bacon cut into cubes

2 cups of finely grated sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup of diced onions

5 minced garlic cloves

1 egg

2 Tbs olive oil

1 tsp sea salt

2 tsp black pepper

Orientex square lumpia wrapper

Directions:

Heat oil in skillet and saut garlic and onions until tender. Add meat and bacon, saut until browned. Add cheese. Remove from heat. Salt to taste.

To assemble lumpia: Carefully separate wrappers. To prevent them from drying out, cover unused wrappers with moist paper towel. Lay one wrapper on clean surface. Place about 2-3 tablespoons of the filling near the edge closest to you. Roll edge towards the middle. Fold in both sides and continue rolling. Moisten opposite edge with water or egg to seal. Repeat with other wrappers. Lumpia can be frozen until ready to use.

Deep fry at 350 degrees until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels.

The Lumpia Company

Back in the day, Alex Retodo's mom started the first ever Filipino food booth for their annual church festival. Even though Alex would hook his friends up with free Lumpia, Mama Retodo taught her son how to share the Tender, Loving Care through the power of Lumpia. Today The Lumpia Company is composed 3 former college roommates Eric Pascual, Jeff Martinez & Alex Retodo who are also known as "The Lumpia Brothers." The brothers are on a mission to share Filipino Food with the world. Their specialty items are the Filipino style Egg-Rolls better known as lumpia, which are 100% Handcrafted and Hand rolled from their brand new kitchen in Oakland California.
