SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- More and more parents here in the U.S. are asking doctors to delay vaccinating their kids.

That's the takeaway from a national survey of more than 500 pediatricians and family doctors released on Monday.

The Journal of Pediatrics reports one in five doctors said at least ten percent of parents wanted to postpone shots recommended for children under two.

Doing so can make those kids, and others, vulnerable to preventable diseases.

Doctors recommend vaccinations against 14 diseases for kids under two.
