SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The Ice Bucket Challenge has reached San Francisco's top safety officials.
Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White dumped five gallons of chilly water on Police Chief Greg Suhr on Wednesday.
"That was cold. The chief actually was way better than me. I mean. But they deal in water all the time. We're a dry sport ball club. These guys are water people," Suhr said.
He got his revenge moments later by dumping icy water on the fire chief.
It's all to raise money for and awareness of ALS, a disease that causes nerve cells to degenerate. It's also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.
The police and fire chiefs were both challenged by Mayor Ed Lee, who opted out of the ice bucket and made a large donation to charity.
