Ferry hits kayakers in Hudson River, at least 10 injured

UPPER WEST SIDE, Manhattan -- Police say at least ten people were injured when a ferry hit people kayaking in the Hudson River on Tuesday evening.

It happened after 6 p.m. near Pier 79.

NYPD Special Ops pulled several people from the water.

At least five people were hospitalized.

One person with serious injuries was taken to Bellevue Hospital. Four people were taken to Mount Sinai-Roosevelt Hospital with minor injuries.
