SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Several days of storms have brought heavy rain, thunderstorms, power outages and flooding to the Bay Area.

Some of the Bay Area's peaks have seen inches of snow and as for the Tahoe area, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until Thursday night, as the region has been hit with feet of snow.
Thousands of PG&E customers are without power Tuesday morning after a line of powerful storms brought lightning and thunder to the Bay Area.
The largest of those outages is on the Peninsula, where more than 2,000 people are in the dark.
The rain continued to fall in the North Bay Monday night.
At Goodman Building Supply in Mill Valley, employees tell us they were busier than normal.
Their biggest seller? Sandbags.
"We pretty much sell out a lot of times during the storms," said employee Max Abramov.
Sausalito resident Michael Quijas tells us after the intense flooding from storms around the new year, many local residents aren't taking chances.
"Be aware that it's coming and it's a problem. You give us ample warning, which is great. Just be aware and take proper precautions," said Quijas.
Quijas says he works as a mold inspector.
A problem that typically spikes during bouts of wet weather.
But, he tells us, there are steps you can take to help protect your home.
"If you know that you have a leak on the envelope of your house or the roof of your house, cover it up before the big rains hit. Make sure you protect it really well," said Quijas.
Further north in Sonoma County, flooding closed the intersection of highways 12 and 121.
Fire officials urging people to stay extra alert when driving in the rain.
"If there is any water on the roads, we ask the public to avoid them and not go through any coned off areas because those are usually coned off for flooding," said Battalion Chief Jake Rosebrock.
And with the series of storms expected to hit our region only beginning, a safety reminder for everyone to remember in the days ahead.
"Look at your local weather and please slow down for the rain. Drive with your headlights on and just be cautious of any emergency equipment on the road."
In the North Bay, the storm is creating lots of issues across the region, from toppled trees to street flooding and power outages.
"Oh my God," said Renee Randolph.
Renee Randolph is seeing what woke up many of her San Rafael neighbors during the storm; a giant eucalyptus tree toppling early Monday across Gold Hill Grade, likely made unstable by the heavy rain.
"Just said, it's dangerous, it's nature happening, it shows how vulnerable we are with rain, our housing, residences," said Randolph.
The tall tree knocked down a power pole and brought down lines.
Highway 1 is closed in Monterey County near Deetjen's Big Sur Inn due to rockslides and debris on the roadway in several locations, according to Caltrans.
In a post on X, Caltrans says the closure extends to Ragged Point Inn in San Luis Obispo County.
They say there is no estimated time of reopening, and crews will reassess the situation at daylight.
