Bay Area officers to attend memorial for fallen Dallas officers
SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Bay Area police officers are on their way to Dallas to pay their respects for five officers who were fatally shot last week.
Inside San Francisco's Grace Cathedral, people of all faiths came together for a vigil for peace. "I thought I've just got to put out the summons," Bishop of California Rev. Marc Handley Andrus said.

The gathering was underneath these stained glass windows around the cathedral's labyrinth.
The purpose was to restore peace and issue a call to action. "It's better to light one little candle than to curse the darkness," Buddhist Church of San Francisco Rev. Ronald Kobata said.

Memorial and funeral services begin Tuesday for the five Dallas police officers shot and killed last week. "It's a scary thing to think about where our world is going," San Francisco resident Christine Hendrickson said.
Hendrickson brought her 16-month-old daughter Mari to the vigil. "I want her to live in a world that does not label her. I want her to live in a world where she can be happy to be who she is," she said.

It's a world Justin Wooley wants for his 6-month-old daughter Cali as well. "When we walked in, no one professed their race, no one professed their religion, nobody professed their age, their sexuality. We just walked into a room full of peace," Wooley said.
San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee attended Monday's vigil.
In the meantime, officers around the Bay Area, including from Concord are getting ready to travel to Dallas. "It means a lot to be able to go out there, but it's sad that we have to," Officer Kenny Trimble said.
Back inside Grace Cathedral, are prayers for a better tomorrow.
"To the great justice maker and a brighter future."
