HAYWARD, Calif. -- Hayward authorities have lifted a shelter-in-place order for residents and businesses after crews took care of some barrels of smoking chemicals Tuesday afternoon.

The incident was initially reported at 2:08 p.m. at 3130 Depot Road, according to county fire officials, and the order was lifted at 3:30 p.m.

3130 Depot Road is the location of the company Contractors Chemical Inc. A phone number listed online for the company is no longer in service.
