OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- President Barack Obama is issuing a challenge to the city of Oakland -- he's calling on residents who are uninsured to sign up for health care coverage and make Oakland a model city for the Affordable Care Act.
Obama wrote the challenge as a guest commentator in the Bay Area News Group papers. The Bay Area News Group is an ABC7 News partner.
The president wrote that many of the millions of Americans who are still uninsured are in Oakland.
Obama has promised to visit and praise the city's success if Oakland makes the biggest change of any city in the number of uninsured people this enrollment period.
