NEW YORK -- Two years ago, Obie the dachshund weighed 77 pounds.

Yes, that was one big wiener dog.

Tuesday, Obie's owner Nora Vanatta stopped by "LIVE with Kelly and Michael," to show off her dog's incredible weight loss - more than 50 pounds!

After two years of a strict weight-loss diet, Obie now weighs 23 pounds. He can finally touch his little paws to the ground.

"It was mostly diet change," Vanatta told Michael Strahan and guest host Beth Behrs. "I think he ate only people food prior, and I put him on a specially-formulated doggy diet... he wasn't able to move much at all until he got down to about 35 pounds, so after eight months he was able to go for real walks."
