DANVILLE, Calif. -- An admitted swindler who stole millions of dollars from Silicon Valley trust fund accounts will spend the next several years behind bars.
Leo Joshua Kennedy was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison. That is the maximum allowed under a plea deal with federal prosecutors. He also will likely be ordered to pay nearly $14 million dollars in restitution to his victims.
The 62-year-old from Danville pleaded guilty to fraud earlier this year. He is expected to report to prison on October 1.
