Brain-dead woman kept alive 54 days delivers miracle baby

Monday, May 4, 2015
A miracle baby named Angel was born 54 days after his mom was declared brain-dead. Karla Perez's family decided to keep her alive to give Angel a chance.
Angel was born April 4, just two weeks before the goal date. His mom died two days later.
Bohn said Angel is still in an incubator and not feeding by mouth but still doing fairly well.
Angel remains in the hospital with his family close at hand, including grandmother Berta, hospital rep. Claudia Bohn told ABC.
''They are an incredibly strong family,'' Bohn told ABC, adding, ''faith is incredibly important.''
