LOS ANGELES -- A suspect accused of being involved in a homicide that took place in San Francisco more than 18 years ago has been arrested, police said Tuesday.
In April 2008, Jason Mosely was shot and killed in the 500 block of Fulton Street. The shooting was one day before the 28-year-old was set to marry his pregnant fiancée.
Mosley's family thinks it was a case of mistaken identity. His case went cold until recently after investigators in the San Francisco Police Department's Cold Case Unit took over.

Nearly 20 years after the homicide, police identified the 40-year-old suspect, who was discovered to be living in Las Vegas, Nevada. Investigators developed probable cause to obtain a warrant for his arrest.
He was arrested Monday in Los Angeles after SFPD investigators coordinated with the U.S. Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force to help locate him. The task force partners with local law enforcement to help detain fugitives.
The suspect was taken to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, where SFPD investigators met with him. He was booked on his outstanding arrest warrant for homicide.
Although police have made an arrest in this case, the investigation is still open. Anyone with information is asked to contact SFPD at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD.
