SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- San Francisco police held a virtual town hall on Tuesday with new information and the body camera video showing a shootout that injured police officer Brittney Taylor and a robbery suspect.
The shooting happened May 31 after a police chase with a robbery suspect.
At about 10:30 p.m., the San Francisco Police Department was alerted about a robbery suspect vehicle entering San Francisco from the Bay Bridge. Officers located the vehicle, with two occupants inside, traveling on 5th Street near Folsom Street.
Officers attempted to conduct a vehicle stop in the area of Mission and First Streets. The suspect driver fled from officers, leading to a vehicle pursuit.

The suspect driver fled through city streets before the vehicle became disabled in the area of Bayshore Blvd. and Jerrold Ave.
That's when police say the suspect got out of the car and started shooting.
"Officers ordered the suspects out of the vehicle. Seconds later, the driver exited and immediately began firing at the officers. As officers returned fire, the shooting involving a police officer occurred.
"A San Francisco police officer and the passenger of the vehicle were struck by gunfire and were transported to a hospital by officers on scene," SFPD Acting Commander Thomas Harvey explained in the town hall update on the shooting.

Police say the driver was arrested and they found two hand guns in his possession.
Prosecutors said the driver, 36-year-old Norris Reed, was charged with two counts of attempted murder and numerous felony counts. According to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Reed had been on parole for about six months after serving more than 14 years in prison for kidnapping and grand theft involving a firearm.
The passenger was later arrested.
Police say officer Brittney Taylor, who was injured in the shootout, is still recovering from her injuries.
