

FREMONT, Calif. (KGO) -- A teen suspect was fatally shot Friday after he and another suspect forced their way into a Fremont apartment and assaulted the occupants, according to police.
Fremont police responded to a home on San Pedro Drive shortly after noon Friday following reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found one of the teen suspects suffering from a gunshot wound.

The suspect was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries, police said.
Investigators determined the incident began when two teen suspects allegedly forced their way into an apartment and assaulted the people inside. During the confrontation, a struggle broke out, and one of the occupants was able to take control of a suspect's gun and fire it, fatally wounding one of the teens, according to police.
The second suspect fled the scene but was later located and identified, authorities said.
Police said two victims inside the residence suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
