SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Federal marshals are on the hunt for a fugitive who pulled off an escape from the federal courthouse in San Francisco Thursday.
The man slipped out of this building and now he's one of Northern California's most wanted.
He's 51-year-old Luke Brugnara who was in federal custody Thursday morning, but a judge gave him a three-hour furlough to meet with an attorney, in street clothes, in the attorney lounge. Brugnara escaped instead.
Federal marshals call the furlough "highly unusual." The same judge has now signed Brugnara's arrest warrant.
Brugnara was in custody on charges related to art fraud to the tune of $11 million.
