Movie night held in Dolores Park just days after triple shooting

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Just two days after a triple shooting inside Dolores Park it was packed for a popular tradition - movie night in the park.

Police have still made no arrests in the shootings, but that didn't stop movie fans from cutting loose to 'Footloose' Saturday night, all under the watchful eye of police, park rangers, and private security.

"You can see a lot of security which makes us feel safer," one movie watcher said.

This was the first major event at Dolores Park since Thursday's shooting.

Witnesses say the suspects crossed the footbridge into the park at Church Street, wearing bandanas and hoodies.

And they started shooting at three people, a 16-year-old boy, and a 37-year-old, and a 69-year-old man.

Since Thursday, San Francisco police have upped patrols, assigning two officers to the park, daily.

But, there was just one for Saturday's event, which didn't go unnoticed by some. "We're trying to be out of here by sundown," Kasey Faatiliga said.

For the most part, people in the park didn't let the recent shooting ruin their night. "We just enjoy this too much, and everyone else does. It's just part of the city, and we don't want to be afraid to live in the city that we love," Paula Karlovac said.
