SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The San Francisco Warriors football team is made up of 8th graders from across the Bay Area.

The Warriors want to compete in the Junior Tanoa Bowl Showcase in Washington State, so they've set up a gofundme account to cover travel expenses.

So far, they've only raised about $350, but they need $15,000.

Many of the student athletes come from low-income areas and can't afford the trip on their own.

"A lot of our kids are actually making it into good schools and we wanted to give them exposure. But without anybody's help, the fundraising hasn't been going as strong as we wanted it to," Fred Velasquez said.
