San Leandro man accused of running, killing girlfriend with car

SAN LEANDRO, Calif. -- A man is accused of running over and killing his girlfriend with a car following an argument late Wednesday night in San Leandro.

Dispatchers received several 911 calls at about 11:50 p.m. about an argument occurring in the 400 block of Ruth Court near the Bayfair Center.

One caller said a woman had been hit by a vehicle and the car was still there, according to police.

When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive woman trapped under a vehicle. Paramedics pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

Police said they are interviewing the woman's boyfriend and witnesses.

Her name has not yet been released.
