Arson suspected in 16-acre fire in San Rafael

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (KGO) -- Authorities will be back at the scene of a fire in San Rafael that may be the work of an arsonist.

It broke out near the Contempo Marin Mobile Home Park in San Rafael just after noon Friday. Authorities will see if it's related in any way to a small grass fire that broke out yesterday along Highway 101 in Novato.

Friday's fire grew to 16 acres and came close to burning 100 homes. Fire officials say it had multiple points of origin, leading them to suspect arson.
