SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (KGO) -- The oldest female American bison living in the spacious bison meadow in Golden Gate Park passed away Monday.

She was named Last Cow and was 22-years-old. Last Cow was cared for by the San Francisco Zoo.

There are six remaining bison in the park. They are each three years old and were brought to Golden Gate Park in 2011 to enhance the aging herd.
