The Oakland Athletics placed catcher Tyler Soderstrom on the 10-day injured list Thursday because of a bone bruise in his left wrist.
The move is retroactive to Wednesday. In a corresponding move, the Athletics selected the contract of outfielder Seth Brown from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Soderstrom, 22, is batting .219 with seven home runs and 20 RBIs in 49 games in his second season with Oakland. The Athletics selected him with the 26th overall pick of the 2020 MLB draft, and he made his major league debut in July 2023. He is batting .192 with 10 homers and 27 RBIs in 94 games over parts of two seasons.
Brown, who turns 32 on Saturday, is batting .189 (34-for-180) with five homers and 15 RBIs in 63 games for Oakland this season.
