The Los Angeles Lakers are resting star forward Anthony Davis for the second leg of their back-to-back set Wednesday night against the Golden State Warriors, but the team plans to have him back Friday against the Sacramento Kings.
Davis has been playing through right shoulder soreness and also took a shot to his ribs during Tuesday's 123-115 victory over the Suns in Phoenix.
The Lakers said X-rays on Davis' ribs came back negative and that he would be reevaluated Wednesday. Kyle Kuzma was set to start in his place against Golden State.
Meanwhile, point guard Rajon Rondo (calf) also will not play Wednesday.
