Newscaster breaks down on air after realizing she knows Sydney siege victim

An Australian newscaster had a raw emotional display on air after learning she was connected to a victim who died in the Sydney siege.

Natalie Barr, a regular on the Australian television program "Sunrise," began to choke up after learning that Katrina Dawson had died during the Sydney hostage siege.

"Katrina Dawson was the sister of a prominent barrister Sandy Dawson who has done some work for Channel Seven," Barr emotionally said on air. "I know (him) and have friends who know, she was a mother of three children. I'm just finding this out this morning."

Dawson, pictured left, was one of two people killed in the siege this morning at the Lindt Chocolat Cafe. Tori Johnson, the cafe's manager, also died in the siege, according to AP.
