Police say Downey officer shot, killed in botched robbery attempt
A Downey police officer was fatally shot as he sat in the driver's seat of his own vehicle in the parking lot of the Downey Police Department Wednesday night, and sheriff's deputies say it appears to have been a targeted attack.
