GARY, Ind. -- Tandriel Hollinquest, 23, is charged with allegedly driving while intoxicated with her 2-year-old daughter in a vehicle that crashed into a concrete barrier in Gary, police said.
Hollinquest was allegedly driving eastbound on I-80 around 7:30 a.m. Sunday when she missed the exit to Central Avenue and hit a barrier that separates the ramp from a ramp to I-65, police said.
After investigation, police allegedly determined that she was intoxicated, and Hollinquest's friend was called to the scene to pick her up. However, police said they determined that that friend, Terrence Hunter, was also allegedly intoxicated.
Hunter, 40, and Hollinquest both face OWI charges. No one was injured in the incident, and the 2-year-old has been released to Hollinquest's sister, police said.
