SAN FRANCISCO -- The season finale for The Great Christmas Light Fight is here! Several families across the nation will battle it out in the ultimate display of seasonal lights and décor.
The Tran family from San Jose, California was in the running to win big this holiday.
"We learn about The Great Christmas Light Fight from ABC actually, we watched the show for last three seasons. And we were amazed by all these beautiful houses all decked out with decoration," said Tony Tran. "It was our dream that maybe we can be on the show. And here we are."
Their winter wonderland home was featured on season 11 of the show after a casting director discovered their festive display. Tony decided to apply to be on the show.
The whole Tran family was involved in the making of the special Christmas display.
"I'm the planner, so I designed this," gestured Tony. "And then I would talk to my wife and my kid to help me out wherever they can."
The Tran family light display was born to bring Christmas cheer during COVID-19.
"We saw that our kids can't go anywhere to enjoy the Christmas lights, so we decided we can decorate some here so our kids, our family can enjoy it, and other kids around, my neighbors can enjoy as well," said Tony's wife, Stacey.
"We don't do this for the contest," said Tony. "We do this for the time for family bonding, and also see the joy, the excitement from kids...that makes everything worthwhile."
Watch the Tran Family on Tuesday, December 19th at 9:00-11:00p.m. PST/EST on ABC7.
