SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- BART is experiencing major, systemwide delays Tuesday evening after a debris fire in the Transbay Tube, officials said on Twitter.
At first the tube was completely shut down, meaning no trains were running at all between San Francisco and the East Bay.
This was reported at 5:16 pm, peak commute time for riders.
By 6 pm, the Transbay Tube reopened, but riders should expect long delays.
