SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Starting Friday, it will cost drivers 25 cents more to cross the Golden Gate Bridge.
It's part of a 5-year program that will continue hiking up trips over this iconic bridge through 2018.
Pay by plate drivers will pay $7.50. Fastrak users will see the price jump from $6.25 to $6.50, and carpoolers to $4.50.
If it feels like you already started paying more to cross not too long ago, you're right. The bridge has been increasing tolls every year since 2014 as part of the 5-year plan to help offset a budget shortfall.
The price jump might catch some of you off guard.
The Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District sent our reminders that bus and ferry tolls increase by 4 percent starting July 1 but they just sent out a bridge toll alert email on Wednesday.
