BERKELEY, Calif. (KGO) -- You could benefit from a new musical instrument program at UC Berkeley. Hundreds of instruments, from slightly used grand pianos and keyboards to violins, will go on sale Friday.
It's all part of a partnership with the Rockley Family Foundation to bring brand new instruments into the Cal music program every year.
The used instruments then get sold to raise money for new ones.
"It's a perpetual event," said Tobin Rockley with the Rockley Family Foundation. "Literally every year we will come and get them new pianos, every year. But, to start off with, this is the one we get things going on. So we have a lot of instruments that we provided to a lot of different universities actually."
The sale kicks off Friday at Hertz Hall Auditorium.
You do need to schedule an appointment to see the instruments.
The final sale day is Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
