AccuWeather Forecast: Level 2 storm arrives overnight
ABC7 News Meteorologist Sandhya Patel has your AccuWeather forecast for Monday.

Takeaway of the Day

Large breaking waves will continue to pound the coast. A High Surf Warning is in effect until 6 p.m. tomorrow as 30 to 40-foot breakers are expected and possibly up to 60 feet in favored areas.

A Coastal Flood Warning is also in effect until noon so watch out for low-lying flooding and dangerous swimming and surfing conditions.

Scattered light showers will continue tonight and then, a Level 2 system arrives overnight into tomorrow morning bringing downpours at times, gusty winds and even a slight chance of thunder.

A Winter Weather Advisory will go up in the Sierra from 7 a.m. tomorrow to 7 p.m. above 6,000'. 5" to 10" of snow and gusty winds will make for hazardous driving conditions so plan accordingly.

The Look Ahead

A break from the wet weather arrives just in time for Christmas and Hanukkah.

It will be dry for those holidays and mostly cloudy.
