Fremont boy wins prestigious national award

Pavan Raj Gowda, a 12-year-old from Fremont received the 2012 President's Environmental Youth Award for his environmental stewardship work.

It is a major award for Gowda who founded a non-profit organization called Green Kids Now, Incorporated. The organization focuses on raising children's awareness of environmental issues.

The seventh grader has also written two children's books, on the environmental issues.
