School is starting in just a few weeks and fundraisers across the Bay Area are ramping up to provide school supplies for low-income children.

In San Jose, Sacred Heart Community Service is holding its annual "pack-a-back" drive to fill 2,800 backpacks.

"Operation Homefront California" in Sunnyvale needs 1,000 more backpacks to meet its goal. The University of Phoenix is teaming up with the Boys and Girls Club of the Silicon Valley to collect school supplies. And in Danville, the group Vestia and a local realtor are collecting supplies and backpacks.
