Carlos Santana shares with us thoughts on his new book
ABC7's Leyla Gulen spoke with iconic musician Carlos Santana about his new book "The Universal Tone".

The iconic musician Carlos Santana has a new memoir about his career, which started in San Francisco in the 1960's.

ABC7 News reporter Leyla Gulen chatted with Santana this week about his influences and about his book called "The Universal Tone."

Santana explained what his book was about. He said, "It's a frequency, a resonance, a vibration that emanates from people's hearts to remind other people's hearts that they are significant, meaningful, they can also create miracles and blessings."

GULEN: "How did the Bay Area impact the trajectory of your life?"

SANTANA: "Look, where did Steve Jobs came from? Palo Alto! Hello, you know. I'm very blessed that I grew up in the Bay Area, because the Bay Area still is an explosion of consciousness."

Santana is once again collaborating with his Woodstock bandmates and will release a new album next spring. In the meantime, "The Universal Tone" is on sale now.
