Chris Rock, Stacey Dash trending on social media after 2016 Oscars
LOS ANGELES (KGO) -- The Oscars are blowing up on social media from comments on Chris Rock's monologue to searches about Stacey Dash and her interesting appearance.
This is the second time Rock has hosted the Oscars, and he topped online searches for most of the evening. Rock wasted no time tackling the elephant in the room.
"Brilliant" and "legendary" were used to describe Chris Rock's opening monologue, also described as "blistering" and "brutal."

It took Rock just seconds to bring up Hollywood's diversity problem.
"Man I counted at least 15 black people in that montage. Laugh," Rock said.
Many also searched Stacey Dash, whose appearance drew a few awkward laughs from the audience tonight. Dash is an actress and Fox News commentator known for her outlandish statements. Rock jokingly introduced her as the Academy's new director of the minority outreach program.

"I cannot wait to help my people out. Happy Black History Month!" Dash said.
Just like she did last year, Lady Gaga wowed the crowd with yet another powerful performance, this time joined by survivors of sexual assault.

Vice President Joe Biden introduced her, the first time a sitting vice president has appeared at the Oscars since 1931.
Nominees for Best Picture traded places all evening for the top spot on Google Trends. "Mad Max: Fury Road" did well until the last hour of the show, which was then taken over by "The Revenant" and of course "Spotlight," the winner of Best Picture.
