Disney announced details for a sequel to the hit movie "Frozen" and release dates for the next "Star Wars" films during the annual shareholders meeting.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A lot of movie news announced in San Francisco on Thursday. It came courtesy of ABC7's parent company, Disney, which announced details for a sequel to the hit movie "Frozen" and release dates for the next "Star Wars" films during the annual shareholders meeting.

Elsa, Anna and the gang from "Frozen" will be defrosting for a new chilling sequel.

"It's only called 'Frozen 2' right now, but it will have a name," explained Disney CEO, Bob Iger.

He broke the news at Thursday's shareholder meeting in San Francisco.

The announcement sent Disney stock soaring. "Frozen" is the most successful animated movie of all time.

Christy Vaca is a big fan. She said, "I'm really excited about 'Frozen 2.' It's really opened up a whole new world for kids. "

"Star Wars: Episode 7 - The Force Awakens" hits theaters in December. The trailer has gone viral with 150 million views. Iger says two more movies will follow, including "Star Wars: Episode8" in 2017.

The new "Avengers" sequel, "Age of Ultron" comes out in May.

"It's a high wattage film, blending Thor and Captain America," said Iger.

Iger also announced the construction on Shanghai Disneyland Resort is moving forward and is scheduled to open in next year.
