LOS ANGELES (KGO) -- Actress Melissa McCarthy may be one of the funniest people in Hollywood, but she's not kidding around when it comes to the fashion industry.

McCarthy told Redbook Magazine that's she's starting her own plus-sized clothing line because of the treatment she received when she tried to find dresses for award shows and other events.

"When I go shopping, most of the time I'm disappointed," she told the magazine. "Two Oscars ago, I couldn't find anybody to do a dress for me. I asked five or six designers - very high-level ones who make lots of dresses for people - and they all said no."

The 43-year-old is best known for roles in the movies "Bridesmaids" and "Identity Thief."
