SAN LEANDRO, Calif. (KGO) -- Some are marking this Mother's Day by standing up against violence.

ABC7 News Anchor Cheryl Jennings emceed this year's walk organized by "1000 Mothers to Prevent Violence."

Lorrain Taylor founded the group after losing her 22-year-old twin sons to a drive-by shooting in Oakland in 2000.

Hundreds of grieving mothers and other family and friends took part in Saturday's healing event at Marina Park in San Leandro.
