NY mom may face charges after son found tied to bush
Police say a mother who had no one to take care of her son while she went to her babysitting job tied him to a bush with a leash so he wouldn't run around their condo complex.

SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. -- A mother in New York who lives in a condo complex is facing possible charges after police say she tied her son to a bush.

Authorities say the Spring Valley woman babysits for someone else in the Blueberry Hill complex and that her son finished up preschool on Monday.

She reportedly had no one to take care of him, but did not want to bring him to the house she works at or let the family she works for know she had her child with her, so she tethered him to the bush by a leash attached to his backpack so that he wouldn't run around the complex.

The boy was not hurt, but an ambulance was called the scene as a precaution.

Police have no idea how long the woman intended to leave the child tied to the bush.

The woman is with investigators, and she will likely be charged at some point Tuesday.
