FLORIDA -- A 15-year-old girl and her military family hit the road this weekend to salute veterans -- and they gained a lot of friends and admirers along the way.

Breanna Murrin carried an American flag as she jogged through the Florida Keys with her younger sister and their dad. Starting early in the mornings to beat the Florida heat, the Murrins ran 20 miles per day for six days, from Key Largo to Key West.

"When we were running, there was this man who was running the opposite direction of us, and he just stopped and he saluted us the entire way we were running. It was really touching," Breanna said.

Breanna's dad Chris is an Army sergeant based in South Carolina. Breanna wants to follow in his footsteps in the Army by attending West Point.
