A woman in Washington took home a $600 souvenir from her seafood dinner.

A Washington woman got a treat she did not expect on a rare date night with her husband.

Lindsay Hasz was having a seafood medley dish when she bit down on a something hard that had been in a clamshell. She almost broke her tooth.

To Hasz and her husband, the dark purple rock looked like a pearl. They brought it to a gemologist, who at first was skeptical.

"I have had that scenario in my 35 year career and it's turned out to be nothing much," said Ted Irwin, a gemologist.

"He thought it looked so round and perfect that someone was playing a joke on me," Lindsay Hasz said.

It was no joke. It turns out, it was a rare one caret pearl worth about $600. Hasz plans on putting the pearl on a necklace.
